President Hassan Sheikh Awards Top-Performing Ministries in 2026 Performance Review

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, attended the closing presentation of the annual performance accountability review of government ministries, where the results of their 2026 performance and implementation of government plans and targets were presented.

The President awarded medals to the Ministries of Finance and Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, which ranked among the top performers in this year’s assessment. He also recognized the Office of the Prime Minister for implementing the digital system used to monitor the performance of government ministries.

President Hassan Sheikh commended the government for its efforts to implement national plans and improve public services, stressing the importance of institutional accountability, work efficiency and regular performance assessments.

He urged ministers and government institutions to use the results as a basis for further improving performance and addressing areas requiring greater attention, ensuring that government plans effectively respond to the needs and interests of the Somali people.
