President Hassan Sheikh Visits Offshore Drilling Ship in Somali Waters

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, visited the Çağrı Bey drillship in Somali waters, where offshore oil drilling is under way, flying out to the vessel by helicopter.

On board, engineers and technical staff briefed the President on the equipment and progress of the drilling, and showed him the ship's control room.

The President then held talks with the leadership of the operation, and also visited an accompanying naval vessel, where he was received by its officers and signed the ship's visitors' book.
