Prime Minister Hamza Meets Pakistani Air Force Delegation

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, met with a Pakistani delegation led by Air Marshal Muhammad Sarfraz, Air Defence Commander and Deputy Commander of the Pakistan Air Force, who is visiting Mogadishu.

The meeting focused on strengthening Somalia-Pakistan defence cooperation, particularly the development and building of the Somali Air Force, enhancing its capabilities, and improving the training and quality of its personnel to accelerate efforts to establish air defence capabilities.

H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre thanked the Pakistani delegation for visiting Somalia, describing the visit as important to further strengthening bilateral cooperation. He said the Federal Government is working to build, train, develop and equip the Somali Armed Forces as the country continues efforts to restore the capabilities and quality of its forces, which play an important role in operations against Al-Shabaab.

The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of further strengthening defence cooperation and support, particularly in developing the capabilities of the Somali Air Force and enhancing the country’s security and defence institutions.
