Somali Air Force Commander Welcomes Pakistani Air Force Delegation in Mogadishu

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Commander of the Somali Air Force, Brigadier General Abdirisak Mohamud Haji, today welcomed a high-level delegation from the Pakistan Air Force to Mogadishu. The delegation is led by Air Marshal Muhammad Sarfraz, Commander of Air Defence and Deputy Chief of the Air Staff.

The visit follows the visit to Pakistan on 4 August 2026 by the Minister of Defence of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, which focused on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation in defence and security.

During their stay, the delegation will hold meetings with the Somali Air Force Command to discuss closer cooperation between the two air forces and further collaboration in air defence.

The visit forms part of the Ministry of Defence’s efforts to strengthen defence partnerships with friendly nations in support of rebuilding and enhancing the capabilities of the Somali National Armed Forces.

Officers and members of the Somali Air Force’s new generation of personnel attended the reception.
