Information Minister Meets House of the People Information Committee

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdifatah Qasim Mohamud, today met with the Information, Public Awareness, Culture, Tourism, Posts and Communications Committee of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia.

The meeting focused on the Ministry’s work plan, laws and regulations under preparation, plans to modernise and expand the National Media, and other priority areas of the Ministry’s work.

The Committee Chairperson, Mowliid Abdi Mahmoud Ahmed, accompanied by the Deputy Chairperson, Secretary and Committee members, commended the Ministry’s work and stressed the importance of cooperation between the Ministry and the Committee.

H.E. Abdifatah Qasim Mohamud briefed the Committee on the Ministry’s activities and plans and thanked the House of the People for its continued cooperation with the Ministry.

The Minister was accompanied by the Director General of the Ministry, Abdullahi Hayir Duale; Director of Administration and Finance, Nasir Hassan Hussein; Director of Somali National Television, Mohamed Kaafi Sheikh Abukar; Director of Strategy, Abdishakur Ali Ahmed; and the Minister’s Private Secretary, Yusuf Ali Mohamed.
