Somali Army Chief Meets Turkish Defence Minister

Ankara, — Somali National Army Commander Brig. Gen. Ibrahim Mohamed Mohamud was received today by Türkiye’s Minister of National Defence, Yaşar Güler, during his official visit to Ankara.

The meeting focused on strengthening Somalia–Türkiye defense and security cooperation, including military training, the exchange of expertise, and efforts to further enhance the capabilities of the Somali National Army.

The Somali commander is visiting Türkiye at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart, Chief of the Turkish General Staff Gen. Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu.
