Banadir Governor Meets Somali Poets Mustafa Sheikh Ilmi

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Governor of Banadir Regional Administration and Mayor of Mogadishu, Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab), today received renowned poet Mustafa Sheikh Ilmi and other Somali poets at his office.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the Banadir Regional Administration and Somalia’s creative community, with particular emphasis on the important role poets play in preserving, developing and promoting Somali culture, literature and heritage.

Governor Muungaab thanked the poets for their visit and stressed the importance of strengthening the role of Somali poets and creative professionals in community development and the preservation of the country’s culture and heritage.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Governor for Security and Political Affairs of Banadir Regional Administration, Mohamed Ahmed Diriye (Yabooh), and the Manager of the National Theatre.
